Part 1

Mostly the questions are commonsense, and lets face it , if the learners have to do it, then the driving instructors should do the exam too. The theory exam is in two parts.
you will complete both parts during the same test appointment.

The first part of the exam is multiple choice, 100 questions of which you have to get 85 correct, you get 90 minutes to do this, this is taken at the DSA test centre, its all done on a computer.

You will be asked questions that are divided into four categories (bands)

Band 1:

Road Procedures

Band 2:

Car Control, Traffic Signs and Signals, Pedestrians, Very Basic Mechanical Knowledge

Band 3:

The Driving Test, Disabilities, Law.

Band 4:

The second part is hazard perception, this is on the computer, there are 14 film clips lasting about a minute, you have to click when you see a developing hazard, as experienced drivers you will not have any problems with this, don't worry we'll give you all the training you need for it.

You need to score 57 out of 75 to pass.
At the end of the exam the DSA will let you know then and there whether you have passed this part.

You now have 2 years to pass your part 2 and part 3 Exam.
